The ITS Annual Scientific Meeting 2007 took place
in The Davenport and Alexander Hotels, Merrion Square, Dublin 2
on the 9th and 10th November. In addition to research presentations,
the programme for 2007 included, for the first time, Highlight
Symposia featuring distinguished national and international speakers.
These
were based around the themes of Asthma and COPD. Speakers included
Prof. Paul O'Byrne from McMaster, Prof. Chris Cooper from UCLA,
Prof. Dale Umetsu from Harvard, Professor David Price, University
of Aberdeen and Dr Michael Boland, the Irish College of General
Practitioners and Chairman of the Board of the Office of Tobacco
Control.
The Programme also included breakout sessions for individual groups
such as nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory scientists and paediatricians.
