ITS Scientific Meeting 2012

Dear Colleague,

It is my pleasure to bring you details of the Irish Thoracic Society (ITS) Annual Scientific Meeting 2012 which will take place in the Limerick Strand Hotel, Limerick on the 23rd - 24th November. We have put together a programme for 2012 that promises to meet and exceed the high educational standards you have come to expect of what is now the largest respiratory meeting on the island of Ireland.

Special features of this year’s meeting include guest lectures on the topics ‘Use of NIV in AcuteRespiratory Failure’ and ‘Asthma Genomics and the role of the Respiratory Biome’ while Saturday’s programme will include a symposium on ‘Chronic Respiratory Failure’ - all featuring distinguished international speakers.

In addition, original research will be presented in both oral and poster form. Recent years have seenrecord numbers of high quality submissions and we look forward to similar levels this year. The ITS Case Study Forum has also become a great success and will be held once again on the Thursday evening (22nd November). Abstracts for both have now been received and authors will be contacted in due course regarding submissions.The programme also includes forums for individual groups such as nurses, physiotherapists,and paediatricians.

Of course the meeting is also a great social event and Friday’s programme will end with theGala Dinner, a great opportunity for networking and catching up with friends and colleagues.
