The Irish Thoracic Society Annual Scientific Meeting 2009
The Galway Bay Hotel, Galway - 6th and 7th November
The ITS Annual Scientific Meeting 2009 was a hugely successful and rewarding event. The volume and standard of original research was stronger than ever. This, combined with distinguished guest speakers on topics such as Granulomatous Diseases and Sleep Disorders, made for a very valuable and stimulating experience for all.
A very special feature of the meeting was the presentation to Professor Muiris X FitzGerald of the inaugural Irish Thoracic Society Award for Outstanding Contribution to Respiratory Medicine. This proved a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and recognise Professor FitzGerald's distinguished career and his unique and invaluable contribution to the field of respiratory medicine.
Strong industry support was greatly appreciated and a very warm and hospitable Galway welcome ensured the meeting was as sociable as it was educational - sincere thanks to all involved.
